Workout Progress

In August 2007 I joined my local YMCA. You may be saying, 'yeah, so what' but it was a big step for this exercise hater. I lost my weight by eating healthy and "staying active". What's staying active you ask? Well I answered it way back in this post, to sum it up I meant getting out, going for walks, dancing with the toddler and over all just moving more. That worked for me (I did lose almost 70lbs!) but I feel a consistent workout routine with weight training is a healthier way to go. In the past, I was never able to stick with a routine for very long, life always seemed to get in the way and I didn't make working out a priority.

On this page I plan to track my workout progress much like I do with my weight. My philosophy is to stay true to the journal and that's exactly what I plan to do. So stop back and check up on me now and then. If you notice a break in my progress by all means give me a virtual kick in the butt. I'll probably need it!

Note:If you are wondering where my charts come from my gym participates in FitLinxx and it helps me track my workouts.

I've been coming to your sight for recipes and motivation for about the last three months. Yesterday I just made lifetime member at Weight Watchers so I'm entering that frightening phase of keeping the weight off for good. I noticed on your journal entry today you sounded very down about going the wrong way on the scales. I know this sounds crazy, but I have noticed in my own experiences that every time I start a new exercise routine, I tend to gain weight before losing. You may find that in a few weeks, the exercise will actually start to cause regular weight loss. Just don't get discouraged...hang in there!

Hey there!

I've been working out for a long time, and know i have to change up my workouts so I stay excited about it all. My new thing is spin class. I did it about 5 years ago and started back last week. I highly recommend it. Love your website!!!

How do you count in points with the exercise? I mean... if I took a spin class or worked out at lifting weights, etc, how do I build that into my points calculation?

Anonymous - There is a formula to count activity points. I'm not that familiar with it because I never really worked out before!! It should be in your WW materials.

Wow Roni you look AMAZING! I have to ask you, how do you get rid of the saggy underarms? I am a WW lifetime member, I have lost 40lbs and feel great, but the "forever wave" I just cant get rid of... I have been working out for quite some time and nothing seems to work. How did you get your arms to look so good???

Congrats on your fantastic weight loss!
I noticed that you've just started a work out program.

For someone who is able to commit 6 days (as i see you have so far) I'd suggest looking into following the Body For Life work out program. It's 6 days.. and you don't have to spend hours at the gym. http://www.bodyforlife.com/exercise/index.asp

All the best to you!

kbclogger - You know I didn't do much and I still have the "jiggle" it's just hard to see on the still images! ;~) I think it helped doing basic moves with 5 lbs arm weights and of course lifting the toddler ALL the time! Now that I started working out with weights I can see a difference and my arms are getting a bit tighter.
