Golden Corn VitaTops
You guys know how I feel about the Vitalicious folks. I’ve reviewed the Vitalicious VitaMixes and used them in a few Dessert Ideas including Surprise Chocolate Cherry Muffins, Chocolate Raspberry Brownies, and the Berry VitaMuffin Cake. Well, they shipped me some of their new corn muffin tops and they are delicious!
I popped mine in the toaster for a few minutes and had it as a snack yesterday. They reminded me of a product my Mom would buy us as kids. For the life of my I can’t remember what there are called but the were like flat round corn muffin tops (duh) that we would put the toaster. Sweet and just enough of that corn muffin texture.
So for all the folks looking for a light corn muffin for your corn muffin fix you are in luck! They are only 100 calories, 1 g of fat and 6 g of fiber! Translation, 1 teeny tiny point!
I’m planning a couple of dinner ideas using them, so keep an eye out! ;~)

Hey Roni- really love your site! Couldn't resist easing your brain- I think your childhood memory is of Thomas' (english muffins) Toaster Corn Cakes!
I got my shipment Friday, but haven't tried them yet. I've been looking for a great 1-point corn muffin ever since I started WW and I know these won't disappoint.
My thought was that your childhood memory was Howard Johnsons Toaster Cakes
They look yummy. But, it's 6 g fiber not carbs :)
Hi Roni,
I think "anonymous" @ 1:49am is right... Thomas' used to make them. They also came in Blueberry and Banana Nut (I think). They were SO yummy! My mom used to buy them for breakfast all time when I was a kid and recently I have been searching for something similar. Thomas' doesn't make them anymore and I can't find the vita tops anywhere near me, so I think I'll have to resort to ordering online.
Do you really think they compare well to Thomas'?
Happy (Belated) Birthday!
Renee
Thats them! My mom has verified.
Renee - When I first took a bite the memory of them came right back. It was funny. They are thicker then the Thomas' but, as far as I can remember, they have the same sweet flavor and texture.
My husband loves corn toasties, but he will only eat the "Freihofer Corn Toasties"...I don't know if that's a national brand or not...I recently bought the Thomas' brand for him and he hated them...like I said, food snob. :oþ
Hey Roni - Do you know if the Corn VitaTops have any wheat or wheat flour in them. I know they say corn, but you never know with baked goods. I'm allergic to wheat and have been trying to find low cal/low fat/low point snacks and breakfast foods.
@Angela - Here ya go...
Water, Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Egg Whites, Corn Flour, Whole Wheat Flour, Erythritol, Soy Fiber, Natural Chicory Fiber (Inulin), Dried Honey, Corn Bran, Wheat Gluten, Lecithin, Tricalcium Phosphate, Leavening (Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Potassium Bicarbonate), fruitrim (grapejuice, brown rice syrup), Natural Flavor, Sea Salt, Xanthan Gum. vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, folic acid, iron, biotin, zinc. CONTAINS WHEAT, EGG, SOY.
I totally remember these from when I was a child! They had ones with blueberries also.. they were my favorite and I totally forgot about them!
I also love the corn muffin tops and remember eating Howard Johnson corn toasties when I was younger.
The recipe sounds great, but I don't know what Corn Muffin Tops are? I know I don't have the VitaTops in my area.
Click on the picture you can buy them online if you want.
