Watermelon Yogurt Ice
I had watermelon and I had yogurt, why not put the two together?
The result cured my ice cream craving with a huge serving and, of course, the toddler couldn’t get enough.
- 1 container light flavored yogurt (I used Dannon Light & Fit strawberry)
- 1 cup diced watermelon
Put both ingredients in blender until smooth, it will be very liquidy. Pour in a container and freeze for a few hours.
You may have to break up the ice with a fork before serving. If it’s becomes too solid let it defrost for a bit before serving.
Using the Dannon, 106 calories, 0g fat and 1 g of fiber
Update: If you do accidentally freeze it totally, it takes a long time to defrost. I think I had it one the counter for two hours before soften enough to eat!

THAT LOOKS SOOOOOOOO YUMMY!!!! I am DEFINITELY going to be trying this one!! Anything to hold over an ice cream attack!! :D Thanks!
That looks awesome!!! Thanks for sharing!
That looks so good! I wouldn't even have thought to do something like that!
Oh YUUUMMMMMMM
yeh i am going to try this ice-cream out
This looks yummy! I'm not much of a watermelon fan though, so I think I'll try it with the honeydew that I have in my fridge right now!
Thank you for sharing!
I can't wait to make that!! Thanks Ronnie!
YUMMY that looks delicious. I wonder if it will work with frozen fruit and vanilla yogurt because that is what we have right now and yours is manking me want some.
I WILL DEFINITELY HAVE TO TRY THIS LOOKS REALLY GOOD. I ALWAYS GET A CRAVING FOR ICECREAM OR SOMETHING COLD....WHICH REMINDS ME....I FOUND SOME SUGER FREE ALL NATUREL POP CYCLES FROM BREYERS...I BUY THE STRAWBERRY FLAVOR. THEY ARE ONLY 1 POINT AND VERY GOOD!!
I'm sure that's yummy...sounds like you might benefit from a Vita-Mix Machine! I don't use mine every single day, but when I'm working out, I like to enjoy a "smoothie" in the morning...you could easily make your watermelon/yogurt recipe and eat it instantly (instead of freezing it) by putting ice in the Vita-Mix then watermelon and yogurt. You will love it (you will never crave ice-cream again, but you won't feel guilty eating it once in a blue moon either!)- and you can make many other wholesome treats for your family that they will love!
BTW - you can usually hunt down the VitaMix machine at Costco when they do their roadshows (call Costco or look online or I can help you). The other benefit of getting it thru Costco (besides their return policy) is the demonstrations, so you get to taste the recipes and see how they're made.
Elana - Never herd of that machine. Looks intersting! I'm always pushing my blender to it's limits! lol
I made it the other night with a Yoplait Light Apricot-Mango yogurt. LOVE IT!! Thanks for the idea. I have also tried it with Yoplait Light Vanilla. It was just as good! Thanks for the great ideas Roni!!
