A Weight (Watcher) Maintainer Rant
I normally get comments and emails regarding my Tummy Tuck and I’m always more then willing to share my experience. However recently the questions are getting quite disturbing…
“i see you weighed in. i just have to ask.. was all the tummy tuck pain worth it when you arent being good to your weight??”
“are you taking advantage of the fact that you have a flat stomach and mocking your body??”
“I notice you have gained a couple pounds.. I wonder why anyone would go thru all the pain to gain. is a TT worth it in the end”
“does having a TT 'allow' you to 'let yourself' not watch the weight as closely?????”
What? Are you guys serious?
I'm going to gain a little and lose a little, gain a little and lose a little, THAT'S CALLED MAINTENANCE!!!
Please don’t think you hit some magic number on the scale and then miraculously stay there forever. You age, you build muscle, you lose muscle, you retain water, you splurge on the holidays. It happens, it’s called LIFE!
Maintenance is a funny funny thing. My favorite Weight Watchers leader once said maintenance is like a wave. Your weight should go up and down, it’s normal. Now my weight is a little higher then I’d like it to be but that is JUST A NUMBER ON THE SCALE. I feel great, I look great, my clothes fit perfectly. I am strong, I am fit and I am motivated. I am a Weight Watcher Maintainer, hear me roar!
OK, that may have gotten out of hand.
Anyway, speaking of Weight Watchers (did you like that transition? ;~P), WAY back before Christmas Cranky dissed Weight Watchers (she didn’t really, it was just the title of her post) and their new ad campaign. Apparently some people are up in arms because Weight Watchers is declaring they aren’t a diet they are a lifestyle and this is causing some discussion about my particular program of choice.
Weight Watchers really did change my life and it is a lifestyle for me now. I’ve read opinions on both sides of the Weight Watchers fence and I can understand why some people don’t buy it. One size does not fit all when it comes to dieting, oops I mean lifestyles. All I can do is share the 2 big reasons I think Weight Watchers worked for me. (Because I did need something, I wanted to lose weight and get healthier!)
- FLORE
Weight Watchers has 2 plans, Flex and Core. Flex has you counting points for any foods you eat. The number of points you get depends on your height, weight etc. Core on the other hand gives you a list of foods you eat from until you are satisfied. (Note: the programs are more complicated then that, this is just an overview)
Now I’m a flex girl all the way. The point system really helped me control portions. Probably Definitely my biggest problem. When you like to eat you tend not to realize you just inhaled 4 servings of pasta. Flex forced me to learn what a serving was and it gave me the tools to track food in an easy way.
When you do Flex you realize quick enough that you can eat more healthy foods then junk, because healthy foods have lower point values. Well, where can I get a list of good, healthy low point food? Why? The Core food list of course!
So instead of picking Flex or Core I created FLORE! Count points while sticking to the Core food list as best you can. This worked great for me! It really helped me learn how to eat healthier. - The Weekly Meetings
I am super competitive. Did I ever tell you that? I don’t mean I’m “bum rush the umpire” type of competitive but I like to win, I like to succeed and I like to impress. Meetings helped me because every week I wanted, I needed to raise my hand and say. “I did it! I lost 1.2 pounds this week!” Everyone clapped and it psyched me up for the next week. (I know you are going to ask about the weeks I didn’t lose, well then I’d work even harder to share my success the next week, it’s just how I tick.)
Beyond competitive reasons, the meetings kept me focused. Once a week I reminded myself what I was doing. I sat in a room with people who share my struggle, who understand what is feels like to be me. It’s my ½ hour AA meeting and I love celebrating others successes.
Now, these same reasons may be the reasons that it doesn’t work for you.
Who wants to count points? Or sit in a room with other people trying to lose weight?
Like I said one size doesn’t fit all. But when push comes to shove, Weight Watchers is a lifestyle, because if you learn it. I mean really learn it, you live it. If you are anything like me, you need it.
I should say I don’t believe Weight Watchers is the only program that works. I truly believe most reputable ones do IF (notice that’s a BIG IF) you follow them and are able to follow them for a lifetime. I guess that’s why Weight Watchers went with their new ad campaign. It makes sense to me.
Speaking of me (oh I used that transition already – Didn’t I?), I have been in the zone for the past 2 days, food journaling, working out, getting things done! With all the site updates I’ve been making it’s been hard for me to post my daily menu. I did update my Goals, my Weight Progress, and my Workout Progress. I also recorded a new video post, Cutting Sweet Potato Fries and posted one of my favorite butternut squash recipes, Butternut Carrot Chicken Soup/Stew. But fear NOT, daily menus will return tomorrow!

Boy, people have some nerve to comment on your weight and tummy tuck! Wonder what THEY weigh and how much their weights fluctuate! I appreciate that you were willing to share that part of your journey with everyone. Well, I appreciate that you share ALL your journey with us! It helps when I have an off day to realize others do, too, and still manage to be successful in the long run.
Hey Roni,
Honestly, I don't even think you needed to address those comments. Not that I don't enjoy reading your posts, but from what those people said, it sounds like they are just trying to get a rise out of you or just against the concept of a tummy tuck in general. They sound like bored, angry people who want to nitpick at you because you are a success. Addressing their comments validates them in some way.
I'm glad you didn't take what they said to heart, though, and you're standing up for what you believe in. It's so easy to turn around and say, "hey, really? are they right?" instead of saying, "hey, wait a minute, you're crazy!!" I'm glad you did the latter. :)
The thing I like most about you is that you have truly embraced the concept of a lifestyle change and you take the good with the bad, the gains with the losses, and look at the bigger picture. That's hard to do, but honestly, THAT'S why you're a success story, and that's why you have a huge blogging community that is inspired by you.
Keep it up!! And to all those "haters:" pllllbbbbbbbbttttttt!!!!!! :)
I've read your blog for a few months now and have it in my list of "favorites." I am not seriously trying to lose weight yet, though I should be. I would guess that those who comment negatively on your TT would be those green with envy. You got the TT AFTER you lost the weight, not to lose the weight, there's a big difference there! Also, everyone should remember that you are working out now and weren't before and muscle weighs more than fat! You are so right, life happens. The scale said you lost 3 pounds overnight. Did you really? No. Does the scale lie? Absolutely! I've stepped on a scale 4 times within 10 minutes and gotten a different number each time on the same scale--with as much as a 4lb. spread. Did I really gain/lose 4lbs in 10 minutes? I don't think so! Give it up people, Roni's just sharing her success and encouraging others to share their's. If you don't like to hear/read about it, don't!
Don't even address these people! They don't deserve it and they're just trying to be controversial. You look great, you feel great - that is all that matters. Obviously these folks can't say the same since they're spending a lot of time ripping others apart.
Must be a sign of your popularity that you'd get comments from all kind of folks -- including those who don't have a clue about maintenance. Good for you for not letting them bother you and for setting the record straight.
And thanks for the info on what you liked about WW! It seems like a system that works well for a lot of people--but like you say, no one program or system works for everyone, so it's always helpful to have more information.
I think the appropriate answer is to just go to gym, do two sets of circuit training and show them your firm, lean, worked out, slim with weight watchers rare view that so perfectly matches your flat tummy!
They are just jealous.
Anar
No they DIDN'T?!
REALLY?
Oh Roni, I could SO let loose with righteous indignation, and it's not even my fight!
All I can say is, right ON sistah!
*fist pump*
BTW, I could have sworn that *I* invented doing core on flex. But you can get the glory. I will be magnanimous. ;~}
You took the words out of my HEAD when you explained your reasons why WW works. I have that same competitiveness within me. I strive to succeed, to out-do myself, to impress - mostly to impress myself. I love knowing that I CAN DO IT.
I also thrive on the challenge. This is hard work. But it was hard to be fat. So what that losing weight is also hard work. You choose your hard.
I feel the same way you do about meetings.
Some people just to not get into the social, supportive nature of groups. To each her own.
But to question your TT, after you lost 70 pounds!
Sweetie, you do not have to take that chit!
I'm glad you took them on! You GO get'em!
And to be honest, I would have published their IP address and location of their server.
You know, the info you get off of any decent stat-tracker.
Don't these people know that exists?
You're better than me, Roni.
I'd bust them COLD!
Too funny. I was on the core ww message board today and they completely bashed me because I said the word flore. They kept saying over and over again that ww does not have flore. No duh! I am overweight because I overeat. I need the points to help me stay on track with my calories but want to learn to eat clean. I was just asking them if they knew of any websites with recipes that use core foods but also list the points. No core sites that I found do that. Anyways, I am glad I found your site, and thank you.
I agree with everyone else.. ignore those naysayers.
yes it is very normal to go up and down. I worry when I see someone weighing in every month and they are exactly the same... actually, it doesnt happen :) Its also why WW gives you the 2lbs over your limit, because it happens.
As for it being a lifestyle. It is.. if I ever dropped WW, where would I be? I can place money on the fact that I will gain all my weight back. Its not the quick fix diet that makes you lose 15lbs in a week. That just doesnt happen, when it does.. its not healthy. Biggest Loser makes that hard for some to understand. I can always tell when Im weighing in people that a new Biggest Loser has started, because they start expecting those big numbers. Sorry.. just doesnt happen in regular everyday life (unless something is really wrong!).
Jealous, jealous, jealous. You are obviously doing an amazing job on maintenance and honesly, anyone who has any kind of a clue how WW works will know and understand that. I think it's good you acknowledged them, but honestly, it'll probably do no good untl they truly educate themselves! Keep up all your amazing work Roni!
Courtney (formeforlife)
Well, if anyone wants a scene from "Westside Story", I have your back, Roni! I definitely understand WW as a model for my lifestyle change and the absolute wisdom of seeing and utilizing the common theme that runs between Core and Flex to create the best plan that ever came along! I've been doing it for two years and have lost 80 pounds. I also agree that each of us has to experiment and find the plan that works for us.
When you succeed, you also set yourself up for the criticism of those who don't. It's a public forum and they are out there with their baskets of tomatoes to throw...lol...Just pick them up and make one of your great recipes from them!
You have a whole lot more supporters than you have detractors and you always will!
Those comments were just flat out rude and offensive! Just know that you have helped sooo many people. I look at your blog all of the time for encouragement, food ideas...just a reminder in general that I can do it too. And I have that competitive streak too..we now have a 4 member team for Asheville's Biggest Loser contest and that accountability is Huge for me!
I am in shock that someone would comment about gaining a few pounds. Like you said, it is called life and maintenance. You have not gained 75 pounds back, nor will you allow yourself to! Continue to do what you do and realize there are still many of us who continue to be inspired by you.
Thanks for all the encouragement and the real life aspects of weightlos!
Morning Roni!
I've seen those comments on your blog and never could understand the intent behind them....you handle them very well! And they really don't deserve the time of day!
Weight watchers "lifestyle"....it truly is, but I feel everyone has to make it work for themselves in different ways. Roni...you have given me more tools and encouragement than ww's has ever given me....and I haven't given you a dime! lol...I should though! The healthy guidelines are great, the list of core foods and the portion control is what I concentrate on....but the meetings have not been good for me. My particular leader run her meeting without any purpose or direction and it just seemed like babbling! I stuck it out for 6 months but it didn't get any better. I took what I could from the whole experience and I have lost weight but I still need to keep going. Yes it is a lifestyle but it most certainly is a diet too....still no eating with reckless abandon. Keep up the great work Roni! You are doing great!
Michelle in Ontario
PEOPLE SAY THAT TO YOU? Oh my god...the nerve. Actually, the jealousy and childishness....how freakin silly!!!!! YOU ROCK RONI, and you are an inspiration to so many- never mind the haters.
THOSE PEOPLE ARE ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are called toxic people and get their joy from putting others down. Delete their comments and forget about them. For one thing, you have been working out and doing strength training...anyone on earth will tell you that it is perfectly common to gain a few pounds while still getting smaller because muscle is denser than fat. You look amazing, you have done an amazing job and anyone who wants to rain on your parade is just flat out jealous. Everyone has fluctuations, and it can be for a million reasons. You do not need to justify one single thing to us...you have proven yourself already. Perhaps those posters might like to spend a bit more time working on themselves and little less time trying to pick you apart. Give me a break. Do NOT let them get you down or make you question yourself. You have a million opinions on here to the contrary. There are going to always be a sad few who want to hurt others feelings for whatever reason. You are an inspiration to many and we are all grateful for all of your hard work on this site. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!! I talk about you like I know you to my husband "gosh, Roni had some great ideas on this recipe!" "who's Roni?" "you know, from the blog..." "oh, right..."
Keep up the good work and delete the negativity.
Jenn
Typing one handed here - but wanted you to know if it weren't for you I wouldn't be at the weight I am today, and continuing to go down. You're awesome:)
People can be so rude, it just floors me!
I've heard people are up in arms over the Weight Watchers Campaign, why should they be? All these other diets are out there claiming they are a "way of life" when really they are just drastic get slim-quick schemes. At least weight watchers really is a way of life, if you stick with it you can lose the weight and keep it off ;)
I love Weight Watchers, and I'm glad to find someone else who does!
Let me just say, i really enjoy your site, it gives me inspiration, motivation, and reminds me that i am not alone in this fight to be fit. some people are so miserable with themselves, that bashing others makes them feel good. i pitty them, and their narrow minds. anyhow, i like the new ad campaign, as a ww maintainer now myself(78 pounds) i am getting a little sick of the comments i still get from a few people, "you're still counting points?" "when are you going to quit dieting already?" trying to explain till i am blue in the face that iam not on a diet, and that if i dont continue to track my points everyday, i will surely be right back where i started! I applaud ww for their efforts, it is still the most reasonably priced weight loss program that i know of that actually works, it you work it! thanks for your efforts, they are greatly appreciated!
Wow. Considering the stats on how many of us will regain our weight, I say you are to be commended on how well you've done maintaining. You're right, fluctuations are normal. It's compeltely unhealthy to think that once you lose weight you will never go above your goal weight again.
Insane. Clearly, these emailers of yours are not based in reality.
Good For You Roni!
and i totally agree w/ the whole WW lifestyle thing...it really is a lifestyle for me now as well.
Hey Roni--
Love the whole "Flore" concept--it's exactly what I did even before I discovered your blog-lost 70 lbs--maintaining for a year now--with the normal ups and downs that goes with maintanence--isn't it nice to know that with the WW lifestyle program you can live life and still maintain health and fitness! And I'm really enjoying your food blog!
Roni,
"What do you think a haters job is...to hate...i guess I'll let them do their job." (Katt Williams)
I believe this means..."You Have Arrived!" :-) Does a tummy tuck have to do with weight loss??? Not in my opinion! It has to do with your own personal choice to change something that bothered you. Even if you were 20 pounds heavier, I'm sure you'd still like your flat tummy! I would love to do it(I'm way too chicken!) and I believe your critics would too...which is completely where their criticizing comes from. Not mentioning the tremendous encouragement you have brought to many many of sitting in our homes on our laptops hundreds of miles away, not mentioning the gift you have for concocting amazing recipes, and not mentioning that tummy tuck or not, you lost 70 freakin pounds...(WHOO HOO!!!) you have taught your toddler to appreciate a healthy lifestyle and to appreciate healthy foods. That my dear is your ultimate accomplishment in my book! You have changed your family tree so to speak! And you seem so stinkin happy!
Leave Roni alone people! Can't you see she's busy inspiring me!!!!
PS. (Can you PS on a blog comment?)Have you mentioned before the gym you attend? Is it a chain? And have you ever had any feedback on Curves gyms for women? Know of anyone that had any real body changes due to working out at one? They make them look too easy and intermediate I think so I am curious.
For the record, I think you're totally amazing. AMAZING.
I dream of a tummy tuck myself someday...after I lose this last fifteen pounds. Carrying twins did a doozie on my belly...can someone say "twin skin"? And weight loss just makes it worse.
Honestly, what does a tummy tuck and gaining / losing five pounds have to do with eachother? I don't even get it.
They're probably just jealous because you are doing GREAT and you look FANTASTIC!!!
Some people are jealous! That's what it sounds like to me. Anyway, I agree with you on Weight Watchers. You can't get to a good weight and then go back to your old lifestyle. That's just dumb! So yes, WW is a lifestyle! And I can't wait to rejoin. Gotta get a little more out of debt though...
Keep up the good work, and thanks for teaching what the heck to do with a butternut squash! Love ya girlie!
i like weight watchers because it's (one of) the only program(s) where you can eat whatever you want. as an overweight person, you see skinny people eating "whatever they want" and you think there is some magic secret or metabolism that they have. but really, anyone can eat whatever they want. it's just about portion control, like you said.
Rude, rude, rude!
Everyone else has already said it, but damn it, you rock. You lost 70 lbs AND had a baby. If you want a TT after that, why not?!
I'm with Joyce, I'd publish their IP's ;) (But that's why I don't have a blog, I can't take the critics!)
-Holly
Amen sister! I am a maintaining WW-er and it's a mindset and a way of life for me. I know that weight fluctuates and I know what it takes to keep myself healthy and on track. WW taught me that, and like you said if it doesn't work for you or you want to turn it into a obsession well then don't do it!
I really enjoy your blog(s) and I can identify with most if not all of the issues you have with your weight. I am very happy you've discovered the gym and more importantly weight training. For me it is the KEY to maintenance. If I have one problem with WW it is that they don't emphasis that enough.
You're doing great Roni and good for you getting back on track and feeling great! (For me too, bye bye holidays *whew* !)
Wow... people really do have some nerve. They probably just can't keep their weight off and need to take it out on someone who is confident, motivated and beautiful!!! Keep doing what you're doing... You're a motivation to us all!
Wow. I've never posted a comment before, but I have to say, wow. People have some serious nerve. I appreciate your pluck and am awed at the effort you put forth for the community you've built. I wouldn't suggest people temper or censor their criticisms/opionions (it speaks well of your cite that they feel free to let them fly and certainly invites a lively forum), but they may do well to consider the intentions of their comments, which certainly can be interpreted as mean-spirited and invidious.
Roni, I commend you on the Weight Watchers (WW) Maintainer Rant. I too, have joined and joined and joined Weight Watchers, one time only being 3 pounds from goal weight only to move to another part of Michigan where their Weight Watchers meetings leave the participants begging for better leaders. I rejoined several years ago and it was no better than 17 years ago. I have all the tools to do WW but I found when we did have good informative leaders the meetings WERE successful for everyone in attendance including myself. Then the leaders left, management changed and again attendance has slacked off. Now my local center is pushing people to do WW online or pay monthly with credit card for something called a monthly pass which I refuse to do.
Don't pay any attention to the comments others make. They are focusing on your changes to your body because they secretly wish they had the courage to do what you did and continue to do. I read your blog almost daily as I continue on my journey to getting to "my goal weight" without the help of my local center. I'm going to be successful because I'm doing it in spite of them. Chris from Mid Michigan
I am just floored by the comments you received about your weight fluctuations. Clearly, they are not right in their head and don't realize that as humans, with changing metabolisms, that variation happens! Don't let it get you down...you don't need to worry about any of us out here in cyberspace....you answer to you. But this unimportant voice just wants you to know that you are doing fantastic and you look great! (And I do feel that sometimes our lowest weight that we've achieved may not necessarily be the healthiest--- you are now working out and instead of being rail thin and weak, you are toned and strong but still look thin-- best of both worlds)
Wow! What a popular post. I think that I read your blog daily because I think that I mirror your experience, minus the TT. I would get one if I had the extra $$ lying around. I have lost 60 pounds and maintained it for over a year and a half. I too have had a few fluctuations here and there but after the holidays or whatever event. I get right back on track. I almost feel empowered by the ability to do so. I could not have done that in the past. I also have done it with the "flore" plan. I agree with other posters and yourself that still count points even on maintenance. I just know that I have to. If I didn't I would take the extra and not be accountable to anyone for it. If that makes me a pt counting geek or a control freak or just a weirdo(all names I have been called) then so be it. This is a lifestyle for me and I am OK with it.
Keep up the inspiration I thrive on it.
Thanks
Rebecca in Kansas
Keep up the inspiration to yourself and others.
They are just jealous because you looked fabulous on the cover of a magazine, and they didn't! You are a huge inspiration to many people here, and it's your honesty that keeps us so drawn. Look at Star Jones. She denied her surgery til she was blue in the face, then came out and admitted to it. I would've had more respect for her if she just came out with the truth in the first place. So many people struggle with weight, and are trying to find a way to deal with it.
Weight watchers is what really fueled my major loss. I still stick by the concepts, but had to monitor what I eat in a different way. It is true, it's a lifestyle change, and one size doens't fit all, but they sure do try!
wow people have a lot of nerve... don't let other peoples low self esteem and *cough* jealousy get you down. wonder how much they weigh!!
and P.S. flore rocks!
I'm not gonna pay any attention to the TT comments...it's your body, do what you wanna do!
As for the WW is a Diet thing....that is really weird to me. I used to see it as such, but after being in this different lifestyle for a year, I know that it is not at DIET. WW has taught me so much in the line of better choices and doing exercise, which for some reason people don't think that WW emphasizes that enough, but in ALL my meetings exercise is talked about greatly! And they say they don't wanna pay someone, but they don't know that it is FREE to lifetimers and, yes, I said LIFEtimers because it is a LIFEstyle change to be good to your health for LIFE!
Hey
I cannot believe some people. They are just jealous of your success. I agree with you all the way!!! My weight fluctuates, too and I've lost 70 lbs just like you have...I always hover between 160 and 165. That's the way it is...I'm glad you don't let them get to you. ROCK ON YO!!!! DO YOUR THING! (ha ha...) if you knew me better, you'd know I don't really talk like that.....
keep on keepin' on
Roni, Whoaaa....what a bunch of knuckleheads to knock you like that! YOU have been my inspiration, as well as hundreds of others' inspiration, it appears. I have been successful at this in part because of YOU! I eat your recipes, I also do FLORE, and I am very consciously aware of the fact, because of YOU, that losing the weight in the first place, is easier than maintaining it afterward. Therefore, it's in my head that, when I get the remaining 40.8 pounds off (I'm 55.8% there), that I will continue to WRITE what I BITE, and continue Curves and pilates and any other way to "be active", in essense "live this lifestyle", so that I can remain feeling as good as I already do now...and better. I can see by your generous insight into your every day life, that it is possible to do this, that I don't have to go back to being fat again, only to have to get motivated again and lose the weight ....one more time. I'm tired of that life. I want to live my life, for the rest of my life, like you're doing. And I realize that I will be able to have fried chicken again (once in a while, not every day)...and that my weight will fluxuate by a few pounds here and there, and that's OK...as long as I get right back up on the horse and ride the FLORE!
You keep up the good work Roni girl! You're the best!
Bonnie
Everyone else has said it and i'm going to add to the list. The people who make those comments are the ones that are unhappy in their own skin. Everyone who is on Weight Watchers, and please correct me if i'm wrong, wants to feel better, look better and be healthier. You did what you did so you can enjoy your success to the fullest and more power to you! An old co-worker of mine had lost over 200 lbs, but because she was so skinny, she had all of this excess skin on her arms, legs and stomach and was embarrassed to wear anything that showed skin. it was as if one obstacle was overcome, but there was still another one. In the end, the only thing that should matter is what makes YOU feel good. If people don't like it, then too bad for them, they shouldn't do it.
As for WW being a lifestyle, rather than a diet, I completely agree. Maybe this kind of marketing will help people understand WW isn't something that you do for a few months, lose weight on and then go back to the way you were eating before you attended a meeting.
Love your site, you're definitely an inspiration!
Are you effing kidding me? I would have lost it, you are far better than me on that one and like a pp said, I too would have busted them and posted an IP or email addy or something.
I hope you just deleted teh email and even marked it as SPAM or blocked them.
I feel like a broken record but you are great and inspiring and supportive and motiving and helpful, and, and the list goes on. Obviously I'm not the only one who feels this way either.
Jealousy really is an ugly thing.
Just remember you are beautiful and strong and powerful!
omg. i'm just floored people have the odacity to email you things like that. thats beyond rude. im sorry.
I came across your website yesterday as I just re-started WW after a little break. I'm trying to find WW blogs to post on my blog. I'll definitely be adding yours to my list.
Good for you for getting a tummy tuck! I would love to have one!
AS A WEIGHT WATCHERS MAINAINER MYSELF I WOULD NOT EVEN CARE WHAT THOSE NEGATIVE LOOSERS HAVE TO SAY. LIFE HAPPENS. I WAS AT GOAL ONE OTHER TIME ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO. I DIDN'T APPRECIATE THE FACT THAT I WORKED HARD AND NEEDED TO LIVE THE PROGRAM TO KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF AND GUESS WHAT??? BACK CAME 40 POUNDS. NOW I'VE LEARNED. I JOURNAL REGULARLY, WORK OUT 4-7 DAYS A WEEK AND I ATTEND MEETINGS AT LEAST EVERY OTHER WEEK. AND I WEIGHT IN NOT ONCE A MONTH LIKE I HAVE TOO, BUT I WEIGHT IN EVERY OTHER WEEK...JUST TO KEEP ME ON MY TOES. ITS A MATTER OF CHOICES. I LOVE WEIGHT WATCHERS. I CAN SAY THAT IT SAVED MY LIFE. SO DON'T LET ANYONE TAKE YOUR SPIRIT. YOU INSIRE SOOOOOO MANY OF US. WE NEED YOU RONI. AND WE LOVE YA!!!! THANK YOU.
JAMI
Maintenance is a process in itself and I applaud you for your healthy lifestyle!
I can't believe that they would say such things. I LOVE your posts! I find so much inspiration from them, and I read them every day. Thank you so much for sharing your life with all of us. I joined weightwatchers shortly after I stumbled across your posts, and I look forward to losing weight this new year. Keep up the great work Roni!!
Boy, shake the haters!
you look fabulous, in fact I think you are at the lower end of your weight range!
SHUT UP to those people!
Roni, YOU were the reason I joined WW on November 10th...since then I've lost 22 pounds and I LOVE WW! I check your site every day to see what you've posted (oh dear...I'm sounding like a stalker! I'm harmless...I promise!) and on the days when you don't have time to post, I feel a bit sad but understand. So I'm sorry that others have been mean. You're still my hero. ((((hugs))))
Roni YOU ROCK! Do you know how many days I have stayed 'on' because of something you said! You are a real life success and MAINTENANCE story! Thank you for being real with us and to the haters I say "bite ME" LOL!
Those comments make me mad for you!! I too am a lifetimer at WW and I understand about those few pound fluctuations. I think you do an amazing job at keeping the right attitude and I try to use your advise not to get caught up in a number on the scale (although its tough). My mother in law just asked me why I was on a diet, "you are so skinny..." Well I agree, WW is a lifestyle and I need to keep to that lifestyle to keep the weight off and my eating in control. Plain and simple.
OH SNAP!! I guess you told THEM! LOL! Good for you....pure jealousy on their part. Forget about 'em and keep on keeping on! MEOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
I agree with alle-you shouldnt even look at those comments. Remember-these are people who spend their time reading YOUR blog. You are an inspiration to all who have struggled with disordered eating.
