"That was a good run Mommy!"
That's exactly what the toddler said to me when I walked in the door from a 30 minute run today. He looked so genuinely excited and interested in the run that I had a tear in my eye (I told you, a sap!). It was just so darn cute and I love the fact that I'm teaching him to be active and that exercise is fun. He watches me from the window and cheers me on and I love it!
Other news today, let's see... I've been spending a lot of time getting my new home office set up. Now that may sound sooo official, but it's just a new desk in my extra bedroom. But a desk I desperately need. Every night I work on my laptop in the living room. I have tripods and cameras all over the kitchen and more power cords then I can count on the couch next to me. I think I finally need my own space to work on my sites and my other projects.
Speaking of projects I'm working on a bunch of fun web site, which really, is my favorite thing to do. My semester is wrapping up soon and I'm counting the days, probably more then the students themselves!
Ok, I'm rambling now. Overall, I had a great day on all fronts, eating, exercise and getting things accomplished. I LOVE days that that!
I hope you have a great weekend!

Speaking of frozen treat finds! I found one today and had to share with you!
Julie's Organic Sorbet bars! 70 cal/0 fat/only ONE POINT!! They are pretty decent sized and SO tasty. I got two flavors, blackberry and MANGO!! ;)
how sweet is that!
remarks of the vein are enough to make me get off my stationary bike and hit the pavement as I cant foresee my toddler saying:
THAT WAS A GREAT RIDE MOM. HOW ARE ANGELINA AND BRAD? DID YOU GET A LOT OF EMAILS RETURNED ON YER SIDEKICK HANDHELD?
:)
Why not take the Toddler with you when you run? I have both a single & dble jogging stroller so I can take one or both of my kids. (Although I have to admit now that they're getting bigger & heavier it's a bit harder w/2) It gets them out in the fresh air and adds some resistance to the run. It's also a great motivator to have them cheer you on (except when they're yelling "run faster mom")
Don't get me wrong I still enjoy my "mommy only" runs but sometimes it's nice to have them along and helps solve the problem of fitting in a run when there's no childcare.
What kind of camera do you use? Your pictures always look great!
There is nothing quite like reinforcement from the toddlers. They are just so darned cute...and mean it too!
Wow, what an awesome feeling! You are giving him so much by providing that example, not to mention what you are giving yourself! I don't have kids (yet?) but you are an inspiring mom. :)
I took up running after losing 30 pounds with WW. I ran my first marathon last July and my then 2 1/2 year old finished the last little bit with me. He wasn't going to be stopped from running with Mommy and I enjoyed every moment of it!! How great that he already can appreciate your running (it will make it easier to get away to train).
It became reference very much.
Moreover, it comes.

You are awesome. It is really neat to see your children supporting you and seeing you doing something good for you and them! Keep it up!
I agree try taking the toddler with you. You want to talk about a workout..I have 2 and use a double and I pass REAL runners who look at my 5'2" 177 lb self running with that thing and I get major thumbs up! My girls continue my workout with weights t home...never too early to start teaching them a healthy lifestyle. Good foods too, my 3 yr old is always asking to make sure something is healthy for her.
